Segmented core bits are the mainstay of the concrete drilling and sawing industry. Toolgal's modern segments evolve with market needs to match operator's requirements for lifetime and speed of cut. While all segments are suitable for reinforced concrete, super fast segments have been developed when heavy rebar is expected. Flat segments are also produced for asphalt drilling and concrete drilling, if preferred.
Thinner segments are preferred for hand drilling which may be performed up to 150mm diameter. The drill

connection will normally be ½” BSP and the tube length not longer than 350mm. For drilling with a static drill rig, longer tubes are normal and there are many instances of custom-built core bit lengths. Toolgal usually ships loose segments in order to facilitate the servicing of today’s drillers who demand same day service from our distributors. When brazing segments, care should be taken to use a tube which allows approximately 1.0mm of clearance both in- and outside the tube.
Brazed core bits should always be cooled with water.
